Soma Yoga offers unique movements that can reduce or eliminate muscle pain by fully releasing chronically contracted muscles while retraining the brain to repeat this full release on an ongoing basis.

Paul calls these movements Tools because:

    -  they each fix a unique problem

    -  you can use them individually whenever needed

    -  they are always with you for use anywhere

Paul's suggested use of Soma Yoga is one of many applications of this healing technique that include Soma Yoga Therapy, Soma Yoga Workshops and Soma Yoga taught in the style of a traditional Yoga class. 

Paul teaches Somatic Movements to empower clients to know how to use Somatics whenever a muscle feels tight or is causing pain. This could be any morning when you awake, during or after exercise and during or after physical labour. Each Somatic Movement will take 2 to 3 minutes. The relief of minor tightness is often immediate. Chronic tightness requires a daily practice. 

This site presents Somatics as done while lying on a Yoga mat yet they can all be done while standing or sitting. Doing them on a mat is calming, centering, the best format for learning and a great way to practice. The more you practice them the less likely you will need them.

The pictures are of people being active because meditation is great, Yoga is great and they help keep us healthy and active. This is our goal.
